Climbing up the rankings week after week, Rainier Beach currently sits in 3rd in the DigitalSports’ National Basketball Rankings.  With 1st place, held by Mater Dei, now closer than ever, the Seattle squad expects to give their fellow West Coast elites a run for the honor of the top rank in the nation.

The Vikings latest challenge came from Lakeside, another Seattle school, in a greatly one-sided game.  Rainier Beach opened the game with five three-pointers in its five first baskets.  By halftime, Beach doubled the Lions at 50-25.

Lakeside was able to catch up a bit in the fourth quarter with Rainier Beach’s subs in, however the Lions failed to pose any threat to the Vikings.  The game ended with Beach leading 87-55.

Four players tallied double-digit scoring figures, lead by Dejounte Murray’s 19 points.  David Crisp followed with 15 of his own.  Shaqquan Aaron posted 12 points en route to a triple-double on the evening.  Naim Ladd added on another 11 points.

Rainier Beach plays another Lakeside, this one from Nine Mile Falls, WA, today and closes the week out with Chief Sealth on Friday.  The Vikings expect top performances to attempt work its way even further up the national rankings.

Key Players:

Dejounte Murray- 19 points

David Crisp- 15 points
